Heller Ehrman wants new and summer associates with strong academic credentials, superior writing and speaking skills, as well as a good sense of humor. We look for candidates who participated in Law Review, Moot Court and Journals. We also look at prior work experience, past legal experience and extra curricular interests. We seek candidates with the ability, character, judgment, personality, energy and commitment to develop into wise counselors, effective advocates and valued colleagues.
On-Campus and Minority Job Fair Interviews
Individuals interested in joining Heller Ehrman as new associates or summer associates should sign up with their Career Services Office for an on-campus interview. Firm representatives also interview at many minority job fairs.
Other Opportunities For Interviews
The firm also considers selected candidates through a write-in process. Candidates should write to the recruitment manager at the Heller Ehrman office where they wish to work. Candidates should send a resume, law school transcript and letter indicating whether they are applying for an associate or summer associate position, and the practice area or areas that interest them.
Interview Expenses
After the initial screening interview, on-campus or at one of the firm's offices, selected candidates are invited for more in-depth interviews. Heller Ehrman reimburses out-of-town candidates for coach air fare, ground transportation, lodging, meals and reasonable incidental expenses (as defined by the firm) incurred in conjunction with the in-depth interviews. The firm does not reimburse expenses associated with the initial screening interview.
