Aviva Yakren joined Heller Ehrman in 2002 and practices real estate law.

Experience

Ms. Yakren represents equity investors and real estate developers in acquiring, developing and financing various types of real estate, including office buildings, multi-family housing, hotels and commercial space.  She also represents financial institutions in all aspects of real estate financing, including construction loans, permanent loans and community development loans, and credit-backed bond financings.

Ms. Yakren spent two years as the Managing Editor of the Journal of the Newly Independent States of the Former Soviet Union Law Committee, a publication of the American Bar Association.  She is the author of Foreign Law:  Newly Independent States of the Former Soviet Union, and the editor of A Legal Guide to Doing Business in Russia and the Former Republics of the U.S.S.R.  She was the Co-Chair of the Eurasian States Law Committee of the American Bar Association, Section of International Law and Practice from 1999 through 2002.

Ms. Yakren is fluent in Russian.
