Katie Wood joined the firm in 2004 and is an associate in the Antitrust & Trade Regulation Practice Group and Complex Commercial Litigation Practice Group.

Experience

Ms. Wood’s practice focuses principally on antitrust and trade regulation matters, including state and federal civil litigation and merger investigations before U.S. enforcement agencies. Ms. Wood also has represented clients in trademark and copyright infringement matters and commercial law disputes. Ms. Wood has represented companies in a wide variety of industries, including the pharmaceuticals, computer security, and petroleum industries.

Representative Engagements

  • Federal Trade Commission v. Paul L. Foster, Western Refining, Inc. and Giant Industries, Inc., No. 1:07-cv-00352-JB-ACT (D.N.M. May 29, 2007), motion for emergency motion pending appeal denied, No. 07-2131 (10th Cir. May 31, 2007), appeal dismissed, No. 07-2131 (10th Cir. June 15, 2007). Successfully assisted in defending Western Refining’s acquisition of Giant Industries in FTC action to enjoin the merger through trial and appeal.

  • Mylan Pharmaceuticals, Inc. v. The Procter & Gamble Co., et al., No. CGC 04429860 (Cal. Sup. Ct.). Assisted in representation of Mylan Pharmaceuticals in antitrust and unfair practices case against Procter and Gamble and Watson Pharmaceuticals.

  • Trekeight, LLC v. Symantec Corporation, No. 04-CV-1479-H (BLM) (S.D. Cal.). Assisted in defending Symantec Corporation against libel, interference and unfair practices claims arising from Norton AntiVirus computer security file detections. 

  •  iJET Travel Intelligence, Inc. v. Independence Air, et al., No. 1:04 CV 782 (E.D.Va.). Assisted in representation of iJET Travel Intelligence in Lanham Act trademark infringement lawsuit against Independence Air.

  • Bradburn v. 3M, No. 02-7676 (JP) (E.D. Pa.). Assisted in representation of 3M Corporation in an antitrust action brought by indirect purchasers involving allegations concerning 3M's bundled rebate discount programs.
