Mr. Templeman joined Heller Ehrman as a shareholder in May 2006 and is a member of the Firm’s Intellectual Property Transactions, Life Sciences and Corporate/VLG Practice Groups.
Mr. Templeman’s practice focuses on U.S. and cross-border intellectual property transactions and drug and device discovery, development, and manufacturing including licensing; collaborations; copromotions; joint ventures; clinical trials; development, manufacturing and supply; and CRO and other service provider arrangements. He has worked closely with several of his clients to complete transactions in Australia, Japan, India, the EU, and the U.S. He has also partnered with his clients to initiate and conduct clinical trials at more than 300 sites around the world, including the U.S., South America, the EU, India, and Asia; as well as contracted with a multiplicity of CROs, laboratories, and consultants. In connection with clinical and commercial development, Mr. Templeman regularly provides counsel with respect to clinical study protocols, clinical trial agreements, patient informed consents, materials transfer agreements, sponsored research agreements, development agreements, and manufacturing and supply agreements.
In the past 12 months, Mr. Templeman has negotiated and managed transactions valued at more than $1.5 billion, including mergers and acquisitions, collaborations, licensing deals, and clinical trials. At his prior firm, he managed and negotiated the largest biotech/biotech merger in the past 2 years.
Mr. Templeman has also counseled media clients in transactions with service providers and potential partners, and in connection with technology licenses.
