
Jaime Santos joined Heller Ehrman in 2003 and practices litigation.
Experience
Ms. Santos’ practice includes representation of local and national business entities in complex disputes involving insurance coverage, securities, auditor liability, and director and officer liability. Ms. Santos also represents individuals in SEC enforcement investigations and litigation. Ms. Santos has counseled international businesses regarding Foreign Corrupt Practice Act (FCPA) compliance issues, drafted compliance procedures and authored papers and updates on the topic. Prior to joining the firm, Ms. Santos was a summer associate in the New York office of Heller Ehrman. She also served internships with a number of public interest groups in San Francisco.

Represented Paxson Communications Corporation in multi-state litigation regarding its property damage, business interruption and extra expense losses incurred as a result of the September 11, 2001, terrorist attacks.
Represented consultant and employee placement agency dislocated by the September 11, 2001, terrorist attacks in litigation regarding property damage and contingent business interruption in the Northern District of Texas.
Represented major auditing firm in administrative proceedings to recoup funds from insurance company in receivership.
Represented major auditing firm in multi-jurisdictional class actions including in the Southern District of New York.
In re AOL Time Warner Securities Litigation: Represented Ernst & Young in federal class action, as well as related actions brought by large pension funds in six different states, arising out of allegedly fraudulent accounting by AOL, prior to and after its merger with time Warner.
Represented CFO of a major Fortune 500 company in a SEC enforcement action.
Represented a senior partner and former member of the board of directors of a major accounting firm in an SEC investigation.
