Richard Parker joined the firm in 2003 with a taxation, fund formation and partnership practice.
Mr. Parker has a business taxation practice with principal focus on advising public and emerging growth companies involved in significant transactions, and on venture capital and similar partnership fund formations and operations. He has extensive experience in corporate tax planning, fund formation and representation, joint ventures, mergers and acquisitions, spin-offs and financing transactions. Mr. Parker also has significant experience in the executive compensation area.
Prior to joining Heller Ehrman, Mr. Parker spent more than 20 years with a prominent national firm, where he served for a time as firmwide Managing Partner, Managing Partner of the San Diego office and leader of the firmwide Tax Group. He is listed in "Best Lawyers in America" 2007.
Mr. Parker spent his first 10 years in practice in San Francisco and Silicon Valley. From 1988 to 1992, Mr. Parker taught corporate and partnership taxation, business planning and partnership law in Maryland both at the law school and the business school.
