Attorney Biography

Babak Nikravesh joined the firm in 2002 and practices tax law.

Experience

Mr. Nikravesh's practice focuses on international tax planning for foreign and domestic clients. He regularly advises foreign investors, including sovereign wealth funds and tax-exempt organizations, on their investment strategies in the United States, and counsels domestic clients on structuring their foreign investments and operations. He also has experience in a variety of cross-border corporate and commercial law matters, including foreign expansion, multinational sales and distribution arrangements, joint ventures and strategic alliances, venture capital and private equity finance, mergers and acquisitions, and the federal regulation of overseas business activities. In his practice he has managed deals in a variety of jurisdictions, including the United Kingdom, Ireland, Germany, France, Netherlands, Belgium, Japan, China, Hong Kong, Singapore, Malaysia, India, Australia, Kuwait and the United Arab Emirates.

Mr. Nikravesh is an editor of and contributing author to the BNA Tax Management Portfolio publication "U.S. Income Taxation of Foreign Governments, International Organizations and Their Employees," the leading treatise on the U.S. taxation of sovereign wealth funds.
