Annette L. Hurst Joined the firm in 2005 and is a member of the Intellectual Property Litigation Practice Group.
Ms. Hurst has a complex civil litigation practice that focuses on intellectual property, particularly copyright, trademark and trade secret litigation, as well as disputes involving complex commercial transactions in the software and Internet industries. She also counsels clients in the technology, Internet, and entertainment industries regarding a variety of antitrust and intellectual property issues. Ms. Hurst is experienced in all phases of litigation before federal and state courts in California, New York and several other jurisdictions. Her litigation skills encompass all phases of legal and factual analysis and investigation, discovery, expert discovery, trial preparation, jury and bench trials, alternative dispute resolution and settlement negotiation.
Ms. Hurst was named in 2008 to The Daily Journal’s list of the “Top 50 IP Litigators in California”, in 2005 by The National Law Journal as one of its top “40 Under 40”, in 2004 by the Daily Journal as one of the “Top 20 Lawyers under 40”, and also listed as a "Northern California Top 100 Super Lawyer" and a "Top 50 Female Super Lawyer" by the Northern California Super Lawyers Magazine (a publication in conjunction with Law & Politics and San Francisco Magazine).
Ms. Hurst's community and professional activities include membership on the Board of Directors of the Bar Association of San Francisco, support for Emily's List, serving as a Barrister in the IP Inns of Court, and teaching intellectual property law to lay people in a variety of Bay Area programs. She is also a past member of the Board of Directors of the Legal Aid Society of San Francisco and the Board of Governors of the Association of Business Trial Lawyers, Northern California Chapter.
