George E. Greer joined the firm in 1986. He specializes in complex commercial litigation with an emphasis on securities, corporate governance, professional liability for accounting firms, and energy issues.
From 2005-2007, Mr. Greer served as a member of Heller Ehrman’s Executive Committee, overseeing the management and development of the firm’s litigation and business practices, and as a member of the Firm’s Policy Committee. He was Co-Chair of the Securities Litigation Practice Group from 2004-2005 and was Chair of the Litigation Practice for the Northwest Offices from 1996-2002. He is named in Chambers America’s Leading Lawyers for Business and in The Best Lawyers in America in the specialty of securities law, and has been named as a “Superlawyer” by Washington Law and Politics for seven consecutive years.
Mr. Greer has represented issuers, officers, directors, accountants, and underwriters in class action securities litigation and in SEC investigations and enforcement proceedings. Mr. Greer’s practice also includes representation of companies, Special Litigation Committees, and individuals in corporate governance disputes. He has conducted a number of internal investigations on behalf of boards of directors of both public and private companies. His experience in the energy arena includes the representation of the Bonneville Power Administration in an arbitration involving more than a billion dollars in claimed damages.
