
Susan Finder joined Heller Ehrman as Special Counsel in August 2006 and is a member of the Asia Business Practice. Prior to joining Heller Ehrman, Ms. Finder was with the Hong Kong office of Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer, where she was a member of their China Business Group.
Experience
Ms. Finder acts for foreign companies in China on a wide variety of matters, ranging from investment structuring, litigation in the Chinese courts, financial service and other regulatory issues, to employment, intellectual property, project finance and issues related to the operation of foreign investment enterprises.
Ms. Finder is fluent in Mandarin, Russian and proficient in German.

Yale College (B.A., cum laude. Departmental honors in Russian Studies and additional concentration in Chinese Studies, 1976); Harvard Law School (J.D. 1979); Columbia University School of Law (LLM, 1985).

- Represented a European insurance company on its proposed investment in China.
- Represented a major US express carrier and package delivery company on issues related to its investments in China as well as financing.
- Advised pharmaceutical manufacturers, auto manufacturers and decorative products manufacturers on product liability issues.
- Drafted / amended purchase and sales contracts for major auto parts, manufacturing and telecommunications companies.
- Drafted / amended technology licences for a variety of manufacturing clients.
- Amended software licences for US and European companies.
- Advised major investment banks and manufacturing companies on employment issues.
- Represented the Export-Import Bank of the United States and other export credit agencies on PRC issues related to the financing of the Nanhai petrochemical project.
- Represented a major US financial institutions concerning transactions involving a varitety of PRC financial regulatory issues.
- Represented a major Japanese company concerning judicial review proceedings in China commenced by its joint venture against the local customs authorities.
