Michael Faber joined the firm in 1981 and practices tax law. Mr. Faber is Chair of the Tax Practice Group.
Mr. Faber has broad experience in federal and state taxation, including planning, and resolving disputes with the Internal Revenue Service and state tax authorities. His practice emphasizes tax matters arising in a variety of business transactions, including mergers and acquisitions, restructurings, and other significant transactions; representation of corporations, partnerships and other pass-through entities; representation of emerging clean tech companies; and tax controversy matters. He co-authored "What is Corporate Debt--Is the Answer Now Clear?" for the New York University 40th Annual Institute on Federal Taxation. He also wrote a chapter on depreciation and other types of recapture in Bender's Federal Tax Service and a chapter on California property tax in a California tax treatise. Mr. Faber has also lectured at various tax programs. Mr. Faber has been selected several times by his peers to be included in The Best Lawyers in America."
